Ingredients
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Optional Toppings:
- marshmallows
- whipped cream
- chocolate shavings
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, whisk together the cacao powder and maple syrup until well combined.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and gradually whisk in the milk.
- Heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your desired temperature. Be careful not to let it boil.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon.
- If desired, pour the hot chocolate into a blender to froth it up.
- Pour into mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings if desired. Enjoy!
